How to makeover Estilo 750mm Wall Hung Vanity?

Hi,

I like the groove timber of the vanity like the attached photo.

I'm thinking of purchasing the Estilo 750mm Wall Hung Vanity or this Kaia Wall Hung vanity and install Porta 84x12mm 2.7m White Primed Pine Portaline Dune on the facia of the drawers? Is 12mm too thick?

Re: Estilo 750mm Wall Hung Vanity Makeover

Hi @Beginner20,

Because the drawers are already flush with the sink front on the Estilo unit, adding a 12mm thick timber fascia will extend beyond the bench surface, making the fascia edge visible from above. This is different from your inspiration photo, where the bench top actually overhangs the moulding, hiding the top edge. So while 12mm isn’t necessarily “too thick,” it might not create the seamless, recessed look you’re after. If you want a cleaner look where the bench is proud and overhangs the timber fascia, you’d need a vanity design where the drawers sit back from the bench edge.

If you’re okay with seeing that top edge of the timber fascia above the bench, then 12mm will work.

The other option, though more premium, would be the CIBO 900mm White Ripple Wall Hung Bathroom Vanity that has the fluting already. However, it is the inverse profile of the Porta moulding you were looking at.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Mitchell

Thanks @MitchellMc

Would the porta work if I put a bigger countertop?

Re: Estilo 750mm Wall Hung Vanity Makeover

Yes, but it might be difficult to find a countertop that suits @Beginner20. You might find that the countertop on the Estilo unit can be scooted forward on the cabinet, though it's likely locked in position. This might give you the extra lip you need, but then will create a gap at the back. However, this gap could potentially be filled.

Removing the drawer fronts and replacing them with the Porta moulding could be an option, though that might take some custom work to get right.
