How to patch wall paint?

Question

I recently had my bathroom painted by an experienced painter. I was hooking up a hair dryer holder, and the holder came off (as the back sticker is not strong). It peeled off the new paint, exposing the old paint behind. How do I fix the paint job? Thank you.

A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community and thank you for your question.

Start by giving the sharp edges where the paint has peeled away a scrape with a paint scraper until you've removed any poorly adhered paint that is lifting off the surface beneath.

Once you've removed the poorly adhered paint, sand the edges sand with a sanding sponge to remove any sharp lines that will show through the new paint.

When the sharp edges have been smoothed, apply a coat of Dulux 1Step Prep Primer, Sealer & Undercoat to the bare area.

Wait for it to dry, then apply a coat of your paint. If you don't have any leftover paint from when it was painted before, take a paint chip around the size of 50 cent coin in-store and the team at the Paint Desk can colour-match it for you.
