Hi All,
I built a new home in 2012, and after a while I noticed the bath tub must of had a whole of some sort as a layer of something has now peeled off. It's just a normal bath tub nothing fancy. I am wondering if there is a product I can use to stop future rusting?
Hi @Klm78mum,
A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community and thank you for your question.
Unfortunately, it would be very difficult to diagnose and offer a solution without seeing it. Is it possible to get some photos of the bath?
Considering you've mentioned rust, I imagine you have a pressed metal bathtub. Is that correct?
If there is rust, the first step would be to tidy up the rust. Depending on the severity, you may be able to do this by giving it a light sanding with some wet and dry sandpaper. You should then spray the area with Rust-Oleum 2X Ultra Cover Flat Grey Primer, before painting over it with White Knight 500ml White Tub And Basin Paint.
This process is likely what is required, but I'd like to be sure, so once I can see what you are dealing with, I will advise further.
