How to remove concealed aerator in Mondella Resonance basin set?

Hi there, I have had the Mondella Resonance Black Pin Lever Basin Set in my bathroom for a few years. Recently, while water comes through both the hot and cold taps, the water coming from the hot tap remains cold. The hot water comes through the kitchen tap and the shower. I got a plumber out to check the instant hot water system and it's working fine. When he checked the water flow rates, however, he told me that the bathroom basin water flow rate was below the minimum required for the instant hot water system, so that's why the water coming through the bathroom basin tap doesn't heat up anymore. He's of the view that there's build up and/or a water saving device inside restricting the water flow. Unfortunately, the aerator for this basin set is concealed and he didn't have the tool to remove aerator. I don't have the tool either (not sure if there was one that came in the box? I couldn't find it).

Is it possible to buy the tool that fits and can remove this particular aerator? If not, is there any other way that the aerator could be removed? Or is there any way I could clean the build up without removing the aerator?

Re: Removing/cleaning concealed aerator in Mondella Resonance basin set

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Bibi_C. It's splendid to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about Mondella Resonance aerators.

There would have been a tool supplied to remove the aerator. If you speak with our Special Orders team in-store they'll pass your details onto our Spare Parts team to see if we can order the tool for you.

I believe the aerator is designed to unscrew from the spout. You likely be able to achieve this using a hook and pick set or even a precision flathead screw driver. Place the tool on one of the small raised sections and push the aerator around in an anti-clockwise rotation. Having a tool on both sides and turning in unison would be best.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
