How to remove skirt and spindle from laundry tap?

Hi, I'm trying to replace the washers on my laundry taps but I cannot, for the life of me, work out how to remove the skirt and spindle. Is anyone able to assist, please?

Thanks in advance

Paul

Re: How to remove Skirt and Spindle from laundry tap

Hello @ptaylor

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your laundry tap.

The white plastic spacer on your spindle is the one holding the skirt in place. I suggest using a Craftright 250mm Multi Grip Plier to hold onto the white spacer and slowly twist it off the spindle. Once the plastic spacer has been removed you should be able to remove the skirt/flange off the assembly which will give you access to the spindle. I propose using a shifter to remove your spindle from your wall.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Eric

Hi @ptaylor,

@EricL has responded and I will add one thing.

To prevent possible damage to the new washer ensure the spindle is wound all the way out (tap fully open) before you replace and tighten.

Cheers
