i have removed the screw, but it appears to stuck down. Any ideas of how to remove without damaging the bath tub? Thanks all. Jen

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's wonderful to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your bath waste.
I suspect that your bath waste is fixed in place with silicone and could be the reason why it refuses to move. You could try twisting the top portion with a Craftright 250mm Multi Grip Plier, but please be aware that there is a high probability that the bath waste or the bath will get damaged in the process. If you are unsure, I propose engaging the services of a plumber or handy person to remove your bath waste. One other option you have is to paint the surface of the bath waste so that it looks new again.
