Hi
I am wanting to update my Laundry space to make it more functional and more efficient. It is a small space
I don’t like the laundry tub and any to replace it with a base cabinet and sink and also having a timber like bench top over the dryer and washing machine (note dryer is to be moved back side by side with the washing machine)
Question
if I use this base cabinet which sink would fit?
noting no plumbing to change though I do intend to change the taps that are above the sink on the wall.
photo 1: existing laundry
photo 2: potential idea of new layout
thanks

Hi @Sandra26,
The outside dimensions are listed as 600mm wide x 576mm deep. Knowing that the melamine is 16mm thick, and the support rail at the top of the cabinet is about 50mm wide, this would leave us with an opening that is 568mm wide x 494mm deep.
This Estilo Stainless Steel Single Bowl Square Sink or this Estilo Stainless Steel Single Bowl Sink would fit within the dimensions of the cabinet shell.
As the sink would need to have a trap beneath it, your plumber may have to cut a hole in the middle shelf to accommodate this; however, this would not be too difficult.
Let me know what you think and if you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Hi Jacob
Thanks for the information.
both sinks look like what I’d be looking for.
you mention the trap underneath I’m gonna guess maybe the existing trap will work? A friend is likely to do the install of the cabinet. The new cabinet will be the abt the same size as the existing trough…and will not be an issue with cutting hole to accommodate.
I did ask a plumber week and got quoted an estimate $1000 for plumbing alone..
Hello @Sandra26
If the position of the new cabinet is close to the old wash tub, then the existing trap should work. I propose triple checking the measurements to make sure that there is enough space for the new cabinet and that the trap will be in a usable position.
