Hi,
I've had to remove tiles to install a new bathroom vanity, in doing so a lot of plaster is removed down to brick. What product can I use to patch and fill this up?
This area will be re tiled not painted.
Hi @joshuamorrison,
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.
I'd suggest you start by scraping off any loose materials, such as the old tile adhesive, using a cheap joint knife such as this Craftright 100mm Joint Knife.
Once the surface is relatively clean and stable, I would suggest applying a coat of Dunlop 20kg Multipurpose Acrylic Render to give a flat surface to tile over.
Check out How To Render for some guidance on the process.
The application is different, but the technique remains the same. I'd suggest applying the render with a Craftright Plasterers Trowel, then smoothing everything off with a sponge. Make sure you cover the new vanity with a drop sheet while rendering the surface.
Generally, it is recommended that you allow the render to cure for 7 days before tiling over the top.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
