How to repair a re-enameled bath?

I have a bath with a shower screen attached to the back wall and the edge of the bath, the silicon between screen and bath keeps going moldy. Last time I removed it to replace, it damaged the enamel of the bath, I tried to cover the damaged patches with silicon The bath had been re-enameled 5 years back. Is there a way to fix the chipped enamel, as well what silicon do I use to prevent mold formation. The bathroom is not large, it has 2 windows, however the corner of the bath behind the shower screen constantly has mold formation on silicon. I am at a loss what to do.

To fix the chipped enamel, you can use a Rust-Oleum Tub And Tile Touch Up Kit. This kit includes everything needed to fill and seal chips on re-enamelled baths. Clean the damaged area with isopropyl alcohol, apply the filler, and let it cure according to the instructions.

For the silicone, replace it with Selleys 300g White Wet Area Waterproof Silicone Sealant, which is mould-resistant. Before applying, thoroughly clean the area and ensure it is dry. Make sure you get a nice consistent bead with no gaps that will allow water through. Check out How To Silicone a Gap for some guidance.

You can also keep a squeegee like this Sabco Soft Grip Rubber Window Squeegee nearby to remove excess water from the silicone daily and spray weekly with 30 Seconds 1L Mould Off to inhibit mould growth.
