My not so little puppy - will sometimes paw at a door. Sometimes she’s locked herself in the room. The doors have very light surface scratches, how do I go about repairing them?
Hello @aron23564
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us and thanks for sharing your question about your door.
There are two possible options that you can pursue. You can either lightly sand the surface of the door and touch up the damaged section with paint or put a Kinetic 295 x 210mm White Flat Self Adhesive Cover Plate over the section that they keep scratching. This cover plate is a lightly laminated surface but will eventually get damaged by the constant scratching of your pup. Should your pup grow out of that habit, you can then remove the panel and repaint the door properly. If your pup continues with their habit, repainting the door now will be a repeating exercise.
Just in case you are curious, use a 240grit sandpaper on the scratched surface. Go to your local stores paint department and get some colour matching cards from the display and bring them home to match your door colour. Once you find the perfect match ask the paint specialist to mix a small can for you which you can then use to patch your damaged door.
