How to repair loose toilet roll holder on plasterboard wall?

Just purchased this house and the toilet roll holder has been loose since we bought it. The supporting plasterboard is clearly damaged but I’m a little unsure on the best way to fix this! Any advice would be much appreciated! If there is a way to avoid ripping the whole thing off and re-painting that would be even better 🙂

Unfortunately, it looks like the plasterboard has fractured and the anchor used to hold it in place is pulling through. You're going to have to relocate the toilet roll holder and patch the hole.

Start by removing the toilet roll holder from its existing position and patching the hole using UNi-PRO 500g Multi Purpose Interior Filler. Once the filler has dried, sand it smooth with a Rocket Fine Sanding Sponge, and finally paint the patch to match the surrounds.

Unfortunately, you are going to have to relocate the toilet roll holder by at least 100mm as the plasterboard has fractured and is no longer suitable for anchoring.

If you can locate a usable stud, this is ideal, but if not, use a Ramset Nylon WallMate Plasterboard Anchor, following the manufacturer's instructions for installation. Once the anchor is installed, screw the toilet roll holder into the anchor.
