How to repair shower head holder?

I've got a bar shower head installed (pic 1) however the shower head holder got broken and seems the washer got melted inside and not able to replace with new screw/washer ( pic 2). Any suggestions of how to fix it. I really don't want to replace whole shower head

Re: shower head holder repair

Hi @Nishantk,

To have any hope of repairing it, you would have to start by trying to clean out the thread in picture 2.

You could use something like a flathead screwdriver to pick out the melted washer.

Once the washer is out, spray the thread with some CLR Bathroom And Kitchen Cleaner and give it a scrub with an old toothbrush.

The next step would be to essentially replicate what was there before.

Can I trouble you for a photo of the back side of this piece? It may help to shed some light on what was there before.

I assume there was something like a rubber washer, then a bolt to connect the shower head holder to the bracket on the shower rail.

Do you have the old bolt?

Unfortunately, if you don't, it might just be a case of trial and error to find the correct size. If you could remove the bracket and bring them in store with you, there will be a thread tester you could use to find the diameter of bolt, and then you would just need to select a suitable length.

Let me know what you think and if you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Jacob
