A family member has this old laundry tub with a lot of water erosion around the drain that I want to fix. No leaks thankfully. I am looking for advice on the best product to fill the hole that will be friendly to use for someone new to DIY. I have seen epoxy concrete repair kits and expanding cement recommended for similar issues but wasn't sure what would be appropriate here. I am also interested in recommendations for something that I could apply to completely cover the inside of the tub to hide the repair and current staining.
Hi @98_artsier,
A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.
You should start by giving the concrete a good cleaning with some Chemtech Concrete Cleaner and a wire brush. You'll have to remove as much of the loose material and dirt that has built up over time.
You can then paint on a bond coat of BondCrete then allow it to dry. Then apply Turbo Concrete Bog to the damaged area using a trowel to press it on and smooth it.
Once dry, you can paint the sink with concrete sealer or concrete paint.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
