How to replace bathroom heater bulb?

Hi Team,

I have a bathroom light that also has a heating function (refer attached picture).

I am a rookie at fixing things.. is it possible for me to just change the bulbs or will I need a while new unit?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Re: Fixing bathroom heating light

Hi @Garden_Rookie,

It looks like you've got an IXL Tastic Silhouette 3 In 1 Bathroom Heat Fan Light.

You can see on page 12 of the User Guide, that your light fixture, which is the 12301 Silhouette, takes four IXL 375W Instant Infra-Red Heat Lamps, which can be special-ordered through your local store.

On your model, the globes need to be installed before the fascia plate. So, to remove and replace them, you will need to remove the fascia plate. The fascia plate is a snap fit, which means it should be a simple case of pulling the light surround down until the clips disconnect. You will experience some resistance, but if you apply consistent pressure, it will eventually come off.

In removing the fascia plate, you shouldn't have any access to the wiring, but it is still worthwhile for your safety to turn off your power at the switchboard prior to removing the fascia plate, just to be careful.

Let me know what you think and if you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Jacob
