How to replace broken shower head?

Hello Im trying to replace the shower head on this shower hose. I like the design of the hose - the way it hangs on the shower wall. The head has broken off however and I cant get the remants out of the shower hose - the black plastic part seems to have welded itself to the hose attachment Ive tried to unscrew the silver part - that wont unscrew and Ive tried to pull out or break the plastic part with pliers but I can't budge it.  Any suggestions? Ive taped it up in true give up mode. I can't even unscrew the hose itself. Id really like to keep the hose though as Ive said......

Re: Broken shower head

Hi @RosemaryK,

I'd say it is an issue of grip more than anything else.

I'd suggest you grab two pairs of multigrip pliers to grip either side of this seam.

You can cover the teeth of your pliers with a cloth or rag to protect the finish on the hose while still maintaining grip. You'll then rotate them so the remainder of the shower head moves in an anti-clockwise direction.

If you are still finding that this doesn't help, then you can try spraying some CLR or WD40 into that seam, then allowing it to soak for a minute or two before trying again. This can help to break up mineral buildup and reduce the friction that is causing things to seize up.

Give this a try and let us know how you go. We can assist further if necessary.

Jacob
