Re: Replacing old shower taps

Hello @davestuart

The good news is that the tapware can be repaired on the condition that the damage are the common parts that usually wear out. For example, it could be just the jumper valves have worn out and need replacing with new ones such as the EnduraSeal 12mm Jumper Tap Valve. It could be that the spindle itself has deteriorated which can be replaced as a whole with FIX-A-TAP Chrome Easy Turn Wall Spindle.

I suggest having a look at this guide - How to replace a tap washer. The techniques used are applicable to your wall tap. Please remember to turn off your mains water before you attempt to remove the tap handles and spindles. My best advice is to bring your old spindle to the store and compare it with the new ones available to make sure you are getting the right size. This is on the condition that the spindle is the one that is damaged.

But if you really wish to replace the unit on your wall, I suggest looking at the Quoss Reno Transformer Freestyle Shower Full Set WELS 3 Star 8L/min as a possible replacement unit.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.
