Hi I need to replace these rusty bathroom door hinges and have two questions:
-What's the best way to remove them/what tools do I need?
-What sort of door hinges are best to replace them with?
The width is 2.5 and height is 3.5cm. Thanks in advance!
Hello @alexreed092,
Thank you for sharing your question about your bathroom door hinges. Your hinges are fixed in place using blind rivets. To remove them you'll need to drill the center section out and install new ones in. As for the hinges, I suggest bringing them to the store and finding similar ones in size. If you can find a stainless steel one in the same size that would be ideal.
Here is a handy guide that will help: How to use a Hand Riveter.

Hi @alexreed092,
I just want to pass on a pop rivet tip.
I recommend even for a one-off job you purchase a good quality HSS drill bit.
Kango HSS Drill Bit, and also a 5/32" drill bit.
A 1/8th bit from a DIY HSS drill bit set will likely struggle drilling out those pops - sometimes even one pop.
Cheers
Thanks @AlanM52 could I then replace the hinges with ones that have a Philips head?
Typically not @alexreed092. Pop-rivets expand inside the frame and grip onto it. A standard screw needs to screw into material, and the frame would be hollow inside. It would be difficult to find a screw of the correct length and width to grip correctly. Also, the screw head might interfere with the hinge closing.
It's best to replace the pop-rivets with other pop-rivets.

As @MitchellMc suggested you will need to use the same size pops with a pop riveter.
I have sold... sorry recommended that one and many people have tapped a reminder into their phone to get one 🙂
Cheers
