Hi, i wanted to have some form of heating in my bathroom for the winter and i was wondering if it possible to replace one of my standard ceiling LED lights with a heatlamp. I have seen that you get single heatlamps as well and this would be a easy and space efficient solution of winter bathroom colds. My current ceiling LED have a plug in the ceiling so they should be fairly easy to swap out.
Just wanted to confirm if this was possible or there could be any issues. I am attaching a photo of the led and a link of the heatlamp i am
considering.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @hoshner. It's sensational to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about installing a heat lamp.
That's definitely possible, but there are a few important things to keep in mind. Even though your current LED light uses a plug-in connection in the ceiling, a heat lamp draws significantly more power — usually around 275W compared to maybe 10–15W for a standard LED. Because of that, it’s essential to have a licensed electrician assess whether the existing wiring and circuit can safely handle the additional load.
An electrician will also need to confirm the heat lamp is correctly installed and compliant with electrical safety standards, particularly in a wet area like a bathroom. So even though it looks like a straightforward swap, you’ll still need professional input for safety and compliance. Once they’ve verified everything is good to go, the actual install should be quick and you may even be able to complete it yourself if it’s as simple as plugging into a verified outlet.
Also, both of the heat lamps you linked are designed for in-ceiling installation and will require a compatible cutout size. Just double-check the cutout diameter and the depth clearance in your ceiling to make sure they’ll fit.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
