Giving it a go.
I'm replacing the small, outdated corner vanity with the slimline from Bunnings
CIBO 900mm White Narro Slimline Bathroom Vanity - Bunnings Australia
Understandably the new vanity will not fit the gaps created by removal of the old one due to the footprint, so I need to level the floor. The floor is a wooden subfloor and appears to have waterproofing applied already.
The last piece of old vanity will be removed prior.
What are my options here?
-Sand and cement to level, then apply tiles?
Meaning;
-sand and cement to level
-mortar to apply tiles
-grout to finish
Is there an easier, less expensive way?
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @MyOwnHands. It's sensational to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about tiling.
Yes, that’s the way to go. Since you’re dealing with a small area, the cost should be quite minimal – you’ll only need a bag of sand and cement for levelling, some tile adhesive, tiles to cover the exposed area, and grout to finish. All up, it’s a low-cost solution and will give you a solid, professional-looking base for the new vanity. I can’t think of a less expensive way that would still provide a proper, durable finish.
