Hi, we want to change the tiles in a bathroom. It is a small area directly behind the basin which had mosaic tiles and we want to update the tile.
The old tiles have been removed to expose the cement sheet. However some damage has occurred to the cement sheet. My preference is to patch existing cement sheet with some form of filler, smooth off, paint with a sealer and then re tile. Whilst there clearly some small holes it feels solid. Any suggestions appreciated.
Hi @Pedro462,
I just thought I should mention that, being behind a basin, under the NCC Wet area waterproofing Part 10.2.5, there is a requirement that a waterproof membrane is applied to this area.
With this being said, you can patch up the slight damage with Gyprock CSR 3kg Wet Area Base Coat and Builders Edge 50mm x 20m Fibreglass Builders Joint Tape before applying your waterproofing membrane and tiling over the top.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
Jacob
