How to reverse Estilo shower screen?

Hi, We have a Estilo 900 x 1830mm Chrome Semi Frameless Shower Screen. It says it's reversible but doesn't really say how.

There's a very brief mention at the bottom of the last page (attached), which seems to be just telling us to use different profile covers.

Does it come apart to be reconfigured to reverse it, or do we simply turn the whole thing upside down?

My only concern with turning it upside down is the sticker on the glass with arrows pointing up, by maybe that's just to say hold it vertically when carrying/standing/packing, not horizontal.

I've included the front page, parts list and last page of the manual. The sales page says it's model no. EST0125

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @flutes. It's tremendous to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about Estilo shower screens.

To reverse the installation, the door panel is just installed on the left-hand side, so you get the door on the other side, as per my image below. For a left-hand door, you need to install the top corner connector pieces as shown. Installation is much the same; you just switch the panels around. They don't need to be turned upside down.

There doesn't seem to be a way to disassemble or switch the panels around.

What their images don't show is that the door overlaps the narrow glass panel. It can only swing one way. So even I could switch the panels, the door would then have to open into the shower itself.

I really can't see a way to do it besides turning it upside down.

Does that make sense?

I'm so sorry, @flutes. I didn't see the overlap, as it's not shown in the instructions. You're entirely right. The frame and door need to be flipped upside down to install on the left, with the overlap within the shower recess and the door opening outwards.

The panels are quite heavy and can shatter easily, so ensure you have a helper and that you're both wearing cut-resistant gloves, safety eyewear, long-sleeved shirts, trousers, and enclosed shoes.

I have a similar problem with my Estilo shower screen door installation . I recently purchase a place that had a new shower screen , door and base installed . The problem I have is that the door opens in instead of out which is not to the building code and very awkward to enter and exit . I also noticed that the bottom and top rail has the higher side facing in so when you take a shower water from the shower door just runs out onto the tiles . Would you know what went wrong with the installation? . I was thinking by turning all of it upside down which should have the top and bottom frame higher side outside of the door and opening out will that work ? I haven't photos atm as it's a holiday place . Any advise would be great . Thank you

It does sound like the screen may have been installed incorrectly. It’s unusual for the hinged door to be set to swing inwards. These doors are typically designed to open outwards for both safety and ease of access. In some cases, the entire frame, including the side channels, can be installed back-to-front, which causes both the swing direction and the water deflectors to be reversed.

I don't believe switching the frame and door upside down would reverse the door opening direction. I would imagine the door and frame would need to be flipped 180 degrees to achieve that.

If you can grab a photo on your next visit, it would confirm things, but from your description, it really sounds like the screen was simply installed in reverse.

I have taken some photos of my shower screen that the doors opens inwards hoping you know what's going on by seeing them as im confused why it was installed that way.

Hi @Renman59,

There's a good chance that the door and frame have been installed the wrong way around and should have been rotated so that the door opens outwards on the left instead of inward on the right. It might be worth having a word with a shower frame installer to see if it can be swapped.

Thanks for your quick reply . As we both thought the shower door was incorrectly installed . I disassembled it and turned it 180 deg and now have it opened out like normal .
