Would like some help to work out what tools to buy to make sanding the ceiling efficient, i do have a 2m ladder - thank you
Hi @RenoFun,
To help you choose the right tools, could you let us know a bit more about the sanding job—are you just giving the ceiling a light scuff before painting, or is there more serious damage or unevenness that you're trying to smooth out?
If it’s just light prep, a sanding block with some fine-grit sandpaper (around 120–180 grit) will do the job. But if the surface is rough, flaky or uneven, you might be better off using a powered sander like a detail sander or even a drywall sander with an extension handle.
Keep in mind though that if the ceiling is heavily distorted, it’s often more efficient to skim over the area with a topcoat filler rather than sanding it back aggressively.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
