How to seal terracotta tiles?

My dog wee on the tiles, terracotta tiles, then I tried to take them off, I brush the marks with detergent and left it before I washed it, but when it dried up , the white marks just get bigger and the tiles now in that area looks faded colour compared to the other part. Can anyone help me if I can buy in bunnings terracotta sealer or do I need to get a person to do this, I hope someone can help me. Thank you

Thanks for sharing your question about sealing your terracotta tiles. Can you please tell us what type of detergent you used on your tiles? It might have had ammonia or a strong acid base causing the tile to fade.

I propose testing some Glitz Green 2L Cleaning Vinegar mixed with some water on a small corner of the tile with wee on it and see if it will remove the stain. Make sure to rinse the tile very well and dry it off with a clean rag.

It is difficult to tell if your floor has had a sealer applied to it in the past. Putting a sealer now will not fix the damaged area and it might react to the old sealer that is already on your terracotta floor. I propose engaging the services of a flooring specialist who can tell if you have a sealer on your floor or not. They will also be able to tell if your old sealer has deteriorated.

My only other suggestion is to train your dog to develop a toilet habit and give you a signal when it needs to go. There is also the option of installing a pet door so that it can go outside in your garden.
