Re: Bathroom with window splitting to Ensuite and main

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @rprateek. It's fantastic to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about splitting a bathroom.

Thanks for sharing your floor plan. It sounds like you’re looking to create both an ensuite for the master bedroom and a main bathroom with just showers. I just wanted to clarify a couple of things before offering detailed advice. Is there currently a shower in the existing bathroom, or is it just a bath? Also, are you willing to remove the existing bath if needed?

I’ve edited your image to show one possible way of dividing the space to get two showers, assuming the window placement and plumbing allow it. If you can provide a bit more detail about your requirements and what changes you’re open to, it will help our members give you more accurate and practical suggestions.

What was your concern with the window placement?

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Hi Michell

Thanks for the reply

Yes there is a shower next to the bath where X is shown.i don't want bath but ensuite with shower and toilet+ main bathroom with shower and toilet. I am concerned about the window because i am not sure how I can do water proof it or is there other way. Thanks in advance

Re: Bathroom with window splitting to Ensuite and main

Hi @rprateek,

It appears you have enough room for what you are intending; it's just an awkward layout. Due to the current layout, you might find it easiest to start again with the space, add walls and doors where needed to divide the area into two separate bathrooms.

Here's a helpful guide: How to plan a bathroom renovation.

Re: Bathroom with window splitting to Ensuite and main

Hi @rprateek

This couple of suggested layouts by @MitchellMc @provide and excellent start making use of very tiny spaces.

But to make the most of it, I would consider his comment to start fresh, which is most likely going to be required anyway for a number of construction reasons.

I would also incorporate the toilet into the main bathroom as you will gain even more valuable real estate.
