water is leaking in the red circled part, how to prevent leaking.
washer inside cistern is brand new.
Hello @gab12345
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your leaking cistern.
If you have a Fluidmaster Bottom Entry Toilet Inlet Valve, it's important that the rubber washer at the bottom of the inlet valve is facing in the right direction and that is with moulded side down and the flat surface pointing up. Another possible reason is that debris might have gotten caught under the rubber washer creating a channel for water to flow through. Make sure there are no small stones or a layer of fine sand that has been sandwiched under the washer.
Worst case scenario is that the nut has been overtightened, and this has caused a fissure to appear between the threaded sections of the inlet valve. This type of damage can't be repaired, and the valve will have to be preplaced. I propose uninstalling the inlet valve, double checking the position of the washer and wipe the inside bottom of the cistern with a paper towel before reinstalling the inlet valve. Your aim is to have the locking nut tight and firm but not overly torqued.
If you need further assistance, please let me know.
