my washbasin drain is blocked. water drains very slowly.
any quick suggestions on how i get remove the block please?

I'd suggest starting by unscrewing the pop-up plug — usually, you can just turn it anti-clockwise by hand to remove it. These pop-up plugs have quite a few components underneath that easily trap hair and debris. If you haven't cleaned it out before, you might be surprised how much hair you can pull out! A bent coat hanger can help with fishing it all out. That’s likely the main cause of the blockage.
If clearing that out doesn’t fix the slow draining, the sink trap underneath might be blocked, and you’d probably need a plumber to take it apart. Once you’ve cleaned out any hair, you could also try one of our drain unblocking products if needed to help shift anything else sitting further down. Let them work for the designated time and then plunge the drain.
