What is the best waterproof vinyl for bathroom floor?
Hello @LexR
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your vinyl flooring.
The vinyl flooring range is arranged in a "good, better, best" tier to help you choose the right option for your space. Please note that I am referring to the rolled vinyl sheets and not the single square sheets. The most affordable option typically features smaller sizes, fewer colour and pattern choices, and a thinner material. Stepping up to the mid-range, you'll find slightly larger sizes, a thicker material, a wider selection of colours, and in some cases, easy-to-install self-laying designs. At the top tier, the best options offer the largest sizes, the thickest materials, and often include a soft felt underlay for added comfort.
All rolled vinyl sets in the range are waterproof and can be glued directly to the floor surface. To ensure a watertight finish, the edges can be sealed with a silicone bead, helping to prevent moisture from seeping underneath. While the entry-level options may have minimal thickness, the durability and lifespan of any vinyl flooring will also depend on environmental conditions. Factors such as harsh chemical cleaners and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can affect how long your flooring will last.
I recommend visiting your local Bunnings store and speaking with a team member in the flooring department. They can show you the different vinyl options available, allowing you to see and feel the quality in person so you can choose the one that best suits your needs.
