Hello!
We used to have a door from our spare bedroom to the bathroom, however are in the process of building a wall to close it off.
Need some advice on the next steps, and if it's something I could DIY or better to get a professional in.
I've got the plasterboard up (used the recommended wet area one but got as offcuts hence why it's in so many pieces), however not sure how to go about waterproofing, plastering, and tiling, particularly the joint between floor and wall. The tiles go under the stud work in the new wall by about 2cm as we didn't want to cut them and risk them cracking.
How could we go about namely waterproofing and plastering? Is this better left to the professionals?
I've done some plastering before (on the opposite side if this wall).
Thanks for any advice!
Hello @novicehomereno
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us and thanks for sharing your question about your new bathroom wall.
You've done very well with your patch job and closing off the doorway. In order to get a superior finish, I suggest engaging the services of a plasterer. Waterproofing your bathroom area will need to be done by a trained and registered waterproofing agent as it will need to be sighted and signed off. If you've done tiling before and are confident with this part of the renovation, it's perhaps something you can do as a D.I.Y. But if you've not done tiling then it best to get a tiler to do it for you.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
