Hi Team,
Just moved into a new place and looking at sorting out the laundry with a bit of DIY. I am not a builder and not much experience with DIY at all but someone will be helping me with cutting the benchtop. We have already replaced the laundry tub to a smaller one to fit both the dryer and the washing machine so not keen on replacing the laundry tub cabinet so hoping to enclose this into a benchtop as we found it isn't that practical without it. The laundry tub is tall enough to allow a decent gap between the bench and the dryer and washing machine.
I've attached a photo of the original and the other one marked in red is what i'm thinking about doing and cutting the benchtop that way. I would use L shaped metal brackets to fix the bench to the walls to wall studs. Might not be perfect but keen to try it.
Would this be achievable? has anyone tried this before? Anything to consider? At the front of the laundry tub the benchtop would be about 80mm wide so hoping it wouldn't sag over time
Any advice would be much appreciated even if i'm
