We really love how we transformed this unused area of our house! after all our paper drawings, sketches, daily trips to bunnings, months of DIY labour in 2024. 🤎

That is a wonderful mud room and laundry!

It is bright and clean with incredibly sharp finishes. I imagine you'll get some fantastic use out of it, but don't expect it to stay that clean.

It is always interesting, and quite eye-opening if you've never done it before, to see a messy construction site turn into a finished product.

In your case, from the almost bare dirt to a finished mud room, the transformation is drastic.

Yes! I always feel nostalgic whenever I walk into this space. Thank you for your kind words, this whole area including pool and outdoor patio/barbecue area took at least 5 whole months of daily hardwork by dear husband to reach

our vision for the space. 🤎 I have shared his drawings and sketches of the area.

Hello! Thank you for your kind words! We sent our final drawings and exact measurements to a local family-owned flat-pack cabinet makers, Provence Brothers. They were fantastic and fast! They cut-to-size the cabinets to your specifications and finishing. I had fun helping hubby assemble the cabinets, but took a while to do as there were too many pieces. The beautiful natural Travertine tiles were sourced from a local importer, they are in Osborne Park, WA. They instructed my hubby on how to best handle and install travertine in french pattern. It was a very tedious process for hubby, 2 weeks and a lot of trial and error, and a lot of broken tiles. Thanks

😲 Outstanding job from what was to your very nice and modern laundy/bathroom. .

I saw the cabinetry and the mud bench and went oh yeah! Then went Nooooooo where are the how it was done pics 🙂 They didnt disappoint.

I havnt seen that style but I think we will be seeing more like it, Definently hits the mark 🙂

Is there anything that you would change or recomend if someone else was following your path?

Hi Dave!

Thank you for your appreciation. My hubby said he might not do benchtops in Microcement again. The whole process of applying, curing, troweling is quite challenging and arduous! But, he was proud of the end results. I might do a separate project post on Microcementing using Dulux.
