We decided to do the Toilet transformation as it was extremely dated
Tongue and groove
Paint
Mdf
Wallpaper
I'm pretty angry at myself as I did not take a full before photo but the walls were in we think Formica green I've added similar pic and were held on by metal strips so after days of trying to remove the strips we decided to work with them, first thing we did was place core sheets right round so it would make tongue and groove flush with wall and steel strips
Below pic of what Formica was like
We then did the tongue and groove and my not an easy job when doing corners etc I learnt.
My friend then decided she want to wallpaper above the tongue and groove, so I installed laid the paper and we both hated it. It did blend in well with steel strips though
So i decided to undercoat it and paint the wallpaper which in turn was an awful idea due to us using this God awful glue after painting it, it showed every lump and bump so I put up 2 fake mdf walls and painted over them in puppy by dulux
I then painted all tongue and groove and mouldings in a gloss white
Then we went back to bunnings to covet the awful tiles on the floor we decided on vinyl floor boards
I then painted celing which yes I know should have been done first did the widow sill and door frame and this is how it turned out
It's not perfect but its light and fresh and I can only keep learning
We ❤️ it
Hi @melpag,
I love that you are so honest about the difficulties you had and the on-the-fly changes that happened. It shows the reality of projects like this, in that things don't always turn out exactly how you'd expected, and you can always learn from your mistakes and pivot along the way.
The end result looks lovely, and I'm glad that you are happy with the results and the learning you did along the way.
Thank you for sharing your toilet room transformation.
