I am planning on putting a bench top into my laundry and I have a dryer that I use regularly. The bench will not be attached to the sink and will not be in direct contact with water but will have the humidity from the dryer impacting it. Could you please let me know if the laminate bench tops like Practa and Kaboodle would be suitable for use in the laundry for this situation please. Thankyou.
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Catherine86. It's sensational to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about benchtops.
Yes, laminate benchtops like Practa and Kaboodle are a good choice for a laundry, even if you’re using a dryer nearby. They’re tough, budget-friendly and handle everyday use well. The main thing is to protect them from any moisture over time.
If you do go with laminate, it’s a good idea to seal any cut or exposed edges — like at the ends or around cut-outs — with a bit of paint. That stops moisture from getting in and causing the board to swell.
Also, if your dryer isn’t vented outside, try to make sure there’s good airflow in the room so humidity doesn’t build up. That’ll help look after both the benchtop and your cabinetry.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Hi @Catherine86,
Let me also extend a very warm welcome to the community.
Just thought I'd add to Mitch's response that we have a guide How to install a laundry benchtop that you should find helpful.
