I have a Rinnai Infinity 32 gas hot water system that resets itself once a day. When it does, I have to manually toggle the power switch off and on again to get it working and restore hot water. Before I call out a technician, I was hoping to get some advice here—what are the most common reasons this might be happening
Hi @nehabaid,
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.
Gas water heaters are sensitive systems that are designed to shut down if something isn’t functioning correctly, so frequent resets can be a sign that the unit is trying to protect itself, or you, from a fault.
If your gas hot water system is resetting itself once a day, and you’re having to manually toggle the power switch to get hot water again, it’s important to approach the issue with safety in mind.
I would not suggest you try to troubleshoot the issue yourself and would suggest you contact a repair technician as soon as possible.
It is never worth the risk.
Jacob
