To fill gaps between timber floorboards, you can use a wood filler such as Timbermate. Timbermate wood fillers come in a variety of colours. Try to find a match to your flooring.
You'll want to remove any existing filler before adding new. Remove the existing filler with a utility knife and vacuum cleaner. Ensure you wear gloves and long protective clothing when using the knife as there is the risk of laceration injury.
Once the existing filler has been removed, use a Plastic Scraper to push the new filler into the gaps and clean up with a slightly damp cloth.
For deeper gaps, it’s often helpful to first insert a foam filler rod into the gap, just below the surface. These rods provide backing and support, ensuring the wood filler doesn’t simply fall through. Once the foam rod is in place, apply the wood filler over the top, pressing it firmly into the gap.
Allow the wood filler to dry completely before sanding it smooth with a fine sandpaper such as 180-grit. If necessary, you can then stain it to match the surrounding timber. - MitchellMc and JacobZ
