How do you prevent mould in a wardrobe?

Moisture absorber.jpegTo prevent mould in a wardrobe, first try to determine the source of the moisture. For example, you can use an incense stick to locate the source of a draught. If you find out where its coming from you could cover it up using silicone or perhaps use timber moulding to stop the wind from blowing in.

You might also use a dehumidifier to lower the humidity in the house such as an Ausclimate 12L Compact Dehumidifier. This unit is rated to handle a 50m2 room. It can be positioned so that the humidity in the room is reduced and mould growth is slowed.

You can also try using DampFree Disposable Moisture Absorbers and/or DampFree Moisture Absorber Hanging Pouches. The absorbers pull excess moisture from the air to help protect against dampness and musty odours that can damage your clothing and other stored items in your wardrobes, closets, cupboards and any other enclosed spaces. When the unit is full of liquid, discard the absorber and replace. - EricL
