The project

Whipped up this table in a couple of hours and it cost just $65 with all materials from Bunnings.

  • 2 x bench seat legs at $25 each
  • 3 x Acacia utility panels (1200 x 300 x 26mm) at $5 each on clearance
  • Already had bees wax, 12g screws and tools

The top and bottom panels were straight off the shelf – I cut the ends at 300mm using a piece of timber as a guide. I ran my cordless Ryobi circular saw straight through.

I first made this table for my hallway and was so happy with it that I made another one to fill an unused nook in our dining space. I also ended up with a beautiful Acacia chopping board with the leftover panel that's food grade too.
