Panelling and paint brought this bedroom out of the 70s and helped create a modern sanctuary.

The project

Our main bedroom overhaul used a total re-orientation of the space, dismantling the built-in wardrobes on one wall to create additional space with improved storage. The paint and panelling gave the room a gentle shove out of the 70s and helped make a space where we can relax.

Steps

Step 1

Removed built-in wardrobes.

Step 2

Re-plastered wall and ceiling.

Step 3

Painted (Dulux Magnitude in matte), then cut and installed the timber panelling.

Step 4

Try to forget it ever looked like this!

Good Afternoon @she_builds2023

Seriously so much better! Blown the old away into a much more stylish and modern room.

I will be filing the panneling/trim idea away as I think it gives a depth and class to the room. I have the same old 70's built in cupboard I think. I use lss then half of it actively and have been tempted to do away with it for years. This might just push me over the edge!

You have really improved the room.

Dave
