This stylish coffee table was crafted with Tasmanian Oak and a recycled timber top and features mortise and tenon joints.

The project
I made this coffee table from Tasmanian Oak for legs and rails and recycled timber, possibly Mountain Ash, for the table top.
First I prepared the table top. I don't think it splintered too much on the edges. I used a fine-tooth blade on my drop saw.

I used loose mortise and tenon joints. I made a jig so I could router out the mortise with a 12.5mm spiral router bit. I then cut the loose tenons to fit the mortise using 40mm x 12.5mm Tassie Oak.
