This custom upholstered bedhead was designed to hang above power points. It was created using plywood, medium density foam and a layer of batting, calico and velvet fabric.

The project
We've got a nice upholstered king bed base, but I had trouble finding a bedhead to suit because of the positioning of the windows and the power points in the room. I made an upholstered bedhead that hangs on the wall above the power points and between the windows.

I glued medium density foam to 9mm plywood with a layer of batting, then calico and then velvet fabric. I used a lot of staples for the batting, calico and velvet, and wonderful Everhang flush mounts for each of the five panels. I used Wallmate plasterboard anchors to fix them to the wall.
I've learnt heaps in the process (there's a few patched holes in that wall) but I'm really happy with the end product.
