Made as a Christmas present and now residing on either side of a front door, these fantastic boxes are made from treated pine fence palings coated with linseed oil.
"I made these two planter boxes for a Christmas present for my sister," says experienced Bunnings Workshop member Poppop. "She has two potted plants sitting in them either side of her front door. They are made from Treated Pine fence palings and I also gave them a coat of linseed oil."
Poppop has shared many other projects using fence palings, but there's some debate about the risk of contamination from using timber like Treated Pine. Workshop members have suggested using builders plastic to line the inside of the beds as a precaution if growing edibles in a planter.
