Restoration of a timber cabinet by sanding, painting and varnishing.

The project
Taking an old timber cabinet and upcycling it by sanding, and then painting and varnishing. It creates a really stylish finish that completely transforms the piece of furniture.
Steps
Step 1
Started with cleaning the entire piece down.
Step 2
Scuff sanded using 120-grit paper where I was painting.
Step 3
I did a coat of primer although it's not needed for the paint. I did this anyway.
Step 4
The paint colour choice was Baritone by Taubmans and it was mixed into deep base timber paint.
I applied two coats with a light sand in between coats.
Step 5
Sanded the top and applied a white stain and glaze, then sealed in Cabot's cabothane clear. New hardware (the door knobs) was attached.
