The bricks are hollow.

Do you want to patch this area so it is flat, or are you looking to make an unnoticeable repair? You could easily fill the area with Prep 750g Watercrete Multi-Purpose Patching Cement. To help disguise the repair mix in some Avista Oxide 1kg Brick Red Cement Colouring with the cement to replicate the original brick colouring. A pointing trowel will come in handy to push the cement into all the voids and create a smooth finish.
