Can you advise which products I should use to safely anchor a Rack-It 1000KG & PRO open shelving system to a masonry brick wall in a garage? The product does not come with these as standard it appears.
Thanks
Hi @jk1234,
Thank you for your question about attaching your Rack-It Pro shelving to a masonry wall in your garage.
I'd suggest attaching your racking to the wall using either a DynaBolt or an AnkaScrew that is at least 50mm long. These are fairly heavy-duty anchors that will give you a really solid connection.
You'll need a hammer drill and a suitably sized masonry bit to create a pilot hole for your anchor. Check out How To Drill Into Brick for an example of a similar scenario.
Put the racks together, shift them into position and then mark a location for your anchor through one of the slots that the horizontal beams sit in.
If you are orienting the racking so these slots are perpendicular to the wall, then you can use an angle bracket with a nut and bolt to attach the racking to the wall.
The uprights of the Rack-It Pro system also have plates at their base that can be used to mount them to a concrete floor. A combination of wall anchors and ground anchors will give you an extremely solid connection and peace of mind that they are secure.
Let me know what you think, and if you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
