How to convert Colorbond garage to gym?

Hello, looking for some advice and what to buy to convert my colourbond shed to a storage/gym room. It is waterproof and has electricity to it. My main objective is to get the walls which are just the open metal to look like walls and lay some flooring, currently just concrete. Was thinking I could just put in some bookcases to cover the wall? but am thinking may need some insulation?.

Really just aesthetics as the room won't be used a great deal however do not want to do something which may then cause problems. Also if this is plausible as I have no experience in handy work or building?

Covering your shed walls is a great way to turn that space into a proper room. There have been a few discussions in regards to converting a shed into an office or hobby room. Your shed has excellent advantages as it has been waterproofed and has electricity going to it. The most common method used to cover a wall is to build a timber batten frame and anchoring it to the wall of the shed. The insulation is then placed into the timber frame and its then covered with plasterboard.

In regards to the flooring, I suggest looking at the Ultimate Flooring 1 x 1m x 10mm Black Home Gym Tile. It is a non-bevelled general floor tile is an easy-to-use 1m x 1m rubber tile. The finish is plain black, which will blend into any space, whether you are looking to transform your shed, patio, or home gym

I can understand if you are personally not prepared to do a bit of D.I.Y building, but it is possible to get a handy person to build this for you. I propose posting the job on Airtasker or Hipages for a quote and putting in as much detail as possible so that you'll get an immediate response. My best advice is to ask for references and to make sure to look at their social media page to see their past work.

Definetly achievable 🙂 As @EricL said having your shed waterproof is a huge plus 🙂 It makes life a lot easier.

I have retro fitted my garage with false walls and bookcases and it really has turned out nice, I will include the links at the end. If you are unsure of your level of skill, The retrofit was really easy, breaking it down into parts made it a lot easier in my mind. However, depending on your shed you could skip the lining/insulation and head straight to lining the walls with bookcases. The timber plus the books will do a fair job by themselves.

A lot of heat comes through from the roof of a shed, will wait for some pics 🙂 Depending on how it has been constructed you might be able to insulate it.
