the tongue slide does not slide properly, it comes out of the railing when fully pushed back.

It's fabulous to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about servicing a deadlatch.Have you tried applying a small amount of lubrication to see whether that restores functionality? Failing that, I presume the lock would still be within the warranty period as Lockwood has a 25-year mechanical warranty. If so and it was purchased through us, I'd be happy to facilitate a return on it for you; all we'd need would be your proof of purchase.Please let me know if you have any questions.Mitchell
