Re: How to fix the garage door

Hi @Nas2025,

It looks like the video didn’t come through — feel free to try uploading it again and let me know if you get stuck. In the meantime, the first step would be to try and pinpoint exactly where the noise is coming from and whether anything looks out of place when the sound occurs. Sometimes panels can catch or jam slightly at a particular spot in the track, which might suggest the track needs lubricating or aligning. Beyond general maintenance like tightening loose hardware or applying silicone spray to the moving parts, there’s usually not much in the way of DIY fixes for this kind of issue. If the banging persists or you spot any warping or stress on the mechanism, it would be a good idea to have a garage door specialist take a look — they can safely check things like panel hinges, spring tension and alignment issues.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Re: How to fix the garage door

Hi @Nas2025

As per the advice by @MitchellMc with first lubricating every hinge point, roller bearings and then wiping out any built up debris in the side roller guard runners. It's best to use a dry-lubricating spray which doesn't attract debris like traditional spray-on lubricants.

Though this task should be part of regular maintenance of your sectional door, I high-doubt it's the cause. So, I would stop the door right on the bang, and check for any damage along the edge of the sections. It's possible one has somehow bent and now catching. This then might be something you can bend back into place.

Another cause could be a roller wheel which is designed to have some horizontal freedom along the guard track is getting stuck or catching and dropping in/out. This then may require replacing?

Failing those tips, then again as @MitchellMc recommended just Google "garage door repairs near me"

Regarding the video, I wouldn't be too concerned about uploading it if it's just to hear the bang. Unless we can actually see the cause, it probably won't be of help.
