I want to line a garage to build a man cave. What timber should I use for the framing and how far apart for the studs.
Hi @Brian70,
A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it's fantastic to have you with us.
Internal walls are constructed from H2 pine framing, which comes in a number of different sizes and lengths; however, 70x35, 70x45, 90x35 and 90x45 are what's usually used.
Studs are usually spaced 450mm from centre to centre, and things like plasterboard and insulation are sized to fit this standard.
Check out How To Build a Stud Wall for some further guidance.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
