I would like to paint the garage, I know I can't get rid of the rust (it seems too far gone), but hoping a coat of paint will make it look a bit better, Do I sand and then paint with exterior paint? thanks
Hello @kelbie
Thanks for sharing your question about the rusty section of your garage. I propose using a Trojan 5x15 Row Stainless Steel Wire Brush to remove the flaking rust from the surface of the wall. If you wish to go deeper, you can use a grinder with a Craftright 75mm Crimped Cup Brush. Please keep in mind that excessive use can create a hole in the steel wall. Once the wall has been totally cleaned, I suggest using the White Knight Rust Guard system. It has a rust converter, primer etcher and an enamel top coat which is perfect for outdoor use.
If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Hi @kelbie,
Just thought I'd add that you might like to check out our article How to use ladders safely before starting the project as it looks like you will be working at height.
