How to seal new shed doorways?

Hi,

I just had a new shed built and there are gaps in the doorjamb next to the roll up doors.

The builder added some angle metal to block them but it's not a good seal.

Now, he's indicating he can use silicon seal to fill any remaining gaps.

My older shed has the the doorjamb cover trimmed to the shape of the concrete:

Seems the best approach is having a new doorjamb piece manufactured correctly but wanted to get thoughts from this community.

Has anyone else seen this problem on a new shed?

Hi @Steve5,

It's a pretty decent-sized gap to simply fill with a silicone seal. I imagine what you've said about manufacturing a custom jamb is the way to go.

Using a piece of flat metal in the same colour, it wouldn't be too difficult to add a contoured jamb like on your old shed. It could even be cut on-site using right, left and straight cut aviation snips. You might even be able to use a COLORBOND Steel 1.79m Double Sided Fencing Infill Sheet - Pale Eucalypt, although the height of the jamb might be an issue.

Once the jamb is in place, sealing the bottom edge with silicone such as Selleys Grey 720 Exterior Silicone is definitely the way to go.

Sorry to say I dont have a shed 😕 Would love one yes 🙂 but nooooo.

However could you make a "sock" that contours to the concreet out of sheet metal that you then bolt to the existing piece? Only needs to be a foot of shorter type deal.
