How to weatherproof garage window?

We have perspex glass in our garage windows. They are louvered however they are painted over so don't operate.

I'd like to fill in the gap to assist with weather proofing the garage amongst other things.

Any idea what might be a cost effective solution?

Hi @Rileythornbury,

Thank you for your question about sealing a gap at the top of your louvres.

How wide is the gap?

I'm estimating it is around 25-30mm, in which case, you could simply screw a piece of 31 x 31mm H3 Treated Pine LOSP DAR to the underside of the window frame flush against the louvres.

You could then seal the join between the new timber and the frame with Selleys White No More Gaps Exterior Gap Filler, and paint it to match the frame.

You could also add some Moroday Grey Econo Weather Seal Tape to the inside edge of the timber so that it compresses against the louvre, blocking any cold air from getting in.
